Kevin Brightman was actually a goal tender with the Keswick Flyers. He dedicated himself to the teams he played for and played right through to Midget age in the Rep level of hockey. Kevin passed away in his young adult years, but will always be remembered through this trophy for the dedication he gave to the sport. Wayne Gretzky said “You miss 100% of the shots you never take” Michael Jordan said “I’ve missed 9000 shots in my career, lost almost 300 games and 26 times taken the game winning shot and missed. I‘ve failed over and over again in my life....that is why I succeed” Both of the above quotes are from sports legends that were completely dedicated to their sport and became highly respected for it. This award is presented to the Midget player who shows dedication to developing his own skills, interest in the development of his own team and who shows a genuine love for the game.
