Gearing up for final regular season games
Good day everyone. I thought it was time to submit another team article on our website. To give the parents and update on development and future thoughts.
We have 5 remaining games left in our regular season before we enter playoff games and play 6 games in the playoffs. Two games against each team to seed us into either the A or B Championship. That said I wanted to make everyone aware that we have 5 weeks left for anyone who hasn't played net to take the opportunity to do so. If no one wants to try it we coaches as a staff have decided to choose 2 goalies that we have witnessed throughout the year to play in the playoffs and championship game. Obviously house league is a different mentality than rep. Equal to fair ice time and keeping it fun for all is the motto. But as a coach the ultimate goal is to win because when you win it is more fun and much more memorable than losing. So on that note this is why the choice of 2 goalies.
As for development we have seen some kids come great lengths. Whether it be skill or determination or just the fun aspect I am proud and happy to coach all these kids. I have kids ask me on the bench if they can take a break during the game and we will talk about anything they choose. Some priceless bonding lol. We always go back to hockey talk but the kids are having fun. In practices you notice that the puck has been on the stick after our initial skate. This we feel is best suited because some kids rarely touch the puck some games and we don't want them to be discouraged or dislike the game because of this. Plus it is also great development. A short update for you.
