The association cannot operate without the tireless efforts of our volunteers. We are currently looking to fill a position on the current executive. Read on to find out more.
The executive is looking for a Director of Coaching for this upcoming season.
1.This person is to Chair the Coach Selection Committee in the appointment of Rep, House League and Select coaches, and to provide support to all GMHA coaches by helping them with problem areas; this may require attendance at practices and games.
2.This person will have to organize coach meetings as required.
3. To help coach and develop the volunteer on ice instructors for hockey school.
4. To enforce the rule of equal play in House League.
5. To assist the OMHA & House League Coordinators in all matters that relate to coaches.
6. To develop and nurture, among the coaches, a common purpose in the teaching of the game of hockey.
7. To promote the philosophy of the GMHA and the OMHA.
8. To ensure that coaching staff is aware of the Constitution, By-Laws, Policies and Playing Rules of the Association provided in a guideline booklet.
9. The Coaching Director is responsible and accountable for all coaches and to ensure their staff’s vulnerable screenings are completed and up to date.
The candidate should have at least one year previous coaching (i.e. OMHA, NOHA, Alliance, GTHL, etc) experience without any disciplinary issues.
