Model
GMHA will be implementing Hockey Canada’s Long Term Development Model to ensure young players get the “Right Start” in hockey.
This will be accomplished by first grouping players into similar age and skill levels to maximize the development of the player.
Instruction and Delivery
The program will be delivered by a professional instructor utilizing parent volunteers.
Parent volunteers will be given training opportunities and provided with Hockey Canada’s skills resource material to help with the delivery of the program.
The Programs
Junior and Senior
September-October (development phase)
Players skills will be enhanced through skill instruction and correction, station based drills, and small area games.
November-March (regular season)
1 hour skills/practice(Saturday or Sunday)+ 1 hour structured game(Saturday or Sunday)

Championship day (playoffs)
Approximately mid March
1 playoff game with player introduction, spot light and national anthem.
