Update from the President
Hello everyone.

The Town of Georgina has just advised us that we will be allowing spectators into the ice palace in certain situations. With that being said all players 10 years of age and younger will be allowed one (1) parent or guardian into the facility to watch as a spectator during their child’s scheduled ice time.

There will be certain Policies and procedures that will need to be adhered to which are as follows

1) Parents or Guardians will need to wear a mask at all time’s while in the facility

2) Parents or Guardians will need to complete the Covid Health questionnaire every time they enter the facility which is the same form that you need to complete for your child to participate in their hockey program.

3) Parents or Guardians will only be permitted in the designated viewing area.  Parents or Guardians will not be permitted in the hallways, dressing rooms, or be allowed to congregate in the lobby.

4) Parents or Guardians who are volunteering on the ice will not be permitted a second spectator due to the number of people allowed in the facility, and to allow every child to have one (1) spectator present.

5) The single allotted Parent or Guardian will be permitted 40 minutes to watch their child during their 50 minute time slot.  Parents or Guardians will be asked to leave 10 minutes prior to their child getting off the ice.  The next group may be brought into the facility after their child has already gone into the arena with their coach or coaches. This is to facilitate the Province of Ontario’s ruling that only 50 people may be in a space at any time, and in order to meet this requirement the 40 minutes of viewing time may be reduced to be compliant.

With these new guidelines put in place we will extend registration until Sunday September 13th, 2020.  Please be advised that we will now need to cap divisions in order to allow spectators into the facility, so please register ASAP in order to avoid disappointment.  The link for registration can be found on the Georgina Minor Hockey Association website.

For age groups U12 and above we are working diligently with the Town of Georgina to allow spectators for all age groups, please be patient as this is a step in the right direction
