Update from President and teams posted
Hello Everyone

As we get set to return to hockey, this is a brief update on team formations, game play and practices. In order to maximize ice time and in order to ensure we had enough players within a division to make it competitive and fair we had to in some instances combine age groups. We were still able in most instances leave the rep and house league players separated but not in all divisions. The age groups for the bubble teams are as follows:

IP – 8 Teams (25 Children per 1 hour ice session)
U8 – 3 Teams
U9 – 4 Teams
U10 Rep, U10HL, U11HL - 4 teams
U11 Rep - 4 teams
U12 Rep - 4 teams
U12&U13 HL - 4 teams
U13 Rep - 4 teams
U14 Rep - 4 teams
U15 &U16 Rep - 4 teams
U14/15/16 HL - 4 teams
U18 Rep & U18 HL 5 teams

All of the teams have been up loaded onto the GMHA website under their respective division and team number.  IP, U8, and U9 teams’ further information will be released on this in the next couple of days. If you do not see your name on one of the team lists please email [email protected] or [email protected] and we will look into the issue and add you to a team.  If the teams are un-balanced after a few weeks of game play the GMHA will look to re-balance the teams in order to make each division as competitive and fair as possible.

Development

IP, U8, and U9 teams’ further information will be released on these programs in the next couple of days as we are still sorting through some late registrations.

Players who are in the rep program will participate in their two (2) weeks of development skates within their team from last year, for example U12 A (Minor Peewee A) and U16A (Minor Midget), with their coach from this season.  The U18 program will have two (2) development sessions Rep and HL, for wherever you played last season.

Players participating in the house league program will have their development skates with their bubble teams. U10 Rep will be the exception to this as although they are participating with a mixture of rep and house league players the U10 rep team will still have practice together as a rep team once a week.  The remaining U10&U11 HL players will have a practice once a week together.

All other House League players will have their development sessions for the first two (2) weeks with their bubble teams and continue to have their weekly practices with their bubble teams.  The schedule for HL development and practices will be posted on the GMHA website with their team numbers For example U14/15/16 HL Development Teams 1 &2, U10&U11 HL, U12 &U13 HL Development Team 3 and 4

I know this can be a little confusing at first and but if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.  As well if you know of anyone wishes to play hockey please contact us ASAP as we have limited space in some divisions.

IP Division and U15/U16 Rep – ARE FULL

Thanks
