Survey for Centre reclassification
Submitted By Tammy Sedore on Wednesday, January 27, 2016
Hello all Members and Players,

As most of you are aware our AA and AE Rep teams are struggling to compete yet again this year with the much larger centres that surround us, we are the smallest AA centre in the York Simcoe hockey loop and it will be 10-15 years or more before (and IF) Georgina even comes close to the size of our competing centres, like Newmarket, Barrie, Markham, etc.

Over the last year, alot of members have brought forth the suggestion of dropping down to an A/AE centre instead of AA. A few years ago we surveyed our members and the findings were almost 50/50.  We are again putting out a survey for all our members to vote on to see if there is any traction in looking to see if we should investigate further in dropping down to an A center. By dropping down to A/AE does not mean our teams are going to run away with championships.  "A" hockey is very competitive and will still be a very good challenge for our teams. Markham's 2001 age group dropped down to A this year and they went from 1 win last year to a 500 team playing A which puts them in the middle of the pack.

Please take the time and vote and please let other members know to take the time and vote as well.

We really need to get a sense as to what our memberships wants and see if there is enough of a desire to investigate moving our center to an A/AE center.

Dave Weller,
President

****Survey will close February 3rd ***********
