With 0-2 record to start the 47th Annual Newmarket House League tournament, it looked as though the Cros-Bees would be making an early tournament exit.
But with a dramatic 3-2 victory over a tough Whitby team in ot, the Bees set themselves up for a date to play the Milton Penguins in the consolation championship final and what a game it was!! With a 6-5 ot loss to Milton in the first game of the tournament the Bees knew that they were going to be in tough to bring the trophy home. With a goal from Hayden "Golden Boy" Goldie at the six minute mark of the first period, the Cros-Bees took the lead and didn't look back, fighting to a 1-0 shutout victory over the Penguins to bring the trophy home to Georgina!
With a timely goal, swarming Cros-Bee defense and a great performance in goal the Cros-Bees got the job done!!
The coaching staff are so proud of you guys and girl, you really deserved the win!!
