Schedule & Results, Team 1 Silver, Atom Division, 2015-2016 (Georgina Minor Hockey Association)

This was a game of wits, hard tries, and even camaraderie among teams.  The first period was dominated by Team 2 when they put up 3 points to Team 1's single goal.  It was at this point when Team 1's goalie went onto the bench to try to ward off the injury from taking a puck to the side of the knee.  Team 1 put in a couple of its players in rotation for part of the 2nd, notably #9 Hamilton and #14 Foster, but their goalie #29 Needler was back out to try the rest of the period.  It went as well as it could, but Team 2 still put up 2 more goals to Team 1's single goal again, to make it 5-2 by the end of the second.  Needler prevailed a bit longer into the 3rd, but the injury was too much and he went back onto the bench.  All was not lost, though, as #31 Alex Golmatis of Team 3 Orange graciously stepped in to mind the pipes for the rest of the game.  Final score was 6-2 but Team 1 tried hard through stronger defences and fast rushes on goal.  Special thanks to Alex Golmatis for stepping in and helping Team 1 out - a noble gesture appreciated by the whole team, and a great display of the camaraderie and dedication.
