Team 4 - Green ?
Hello Team 4. We are well under way now. We have practiced once and played 3 games. Everything is going excellent and we see that we have a great group of kids to teach the sport of hockey too. I have asked you all to send me your child's choice of team name. Once everyone has submitted their choice we will choose a name. We also plan on putting name bars on the children's uniforms. This will cost each family approximately $12-15. I will also ask that everyone subscribes to the team website as this is where all information goes through. If anyone has any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out to the Head Coach.

This season we plan on teaching all of the skills mentioned below. It will take a little time but I believe every child is capable of learning a lot about the sport of hockey. We encourage you to support and help teach your child as well. If they listen and practice hard results will be observed by everyone. Here are some of the skills of upcoming practices we plan on teaching.
1. basic stance
2. falling down/getting up
3.t-push
4. gliding - 1 foot, 2 feet
5. striding, scooting
6. edge control
7. glide turns

9. 2 foot stop
10. lateral movement/crossover
11. puckhandling stance
12. stationary stickhandling
13. forehand shot
14. skating with the puck
15. backhand shot
16. glide backwards
17. c-cuts
18. backwards striding
19. backwards v-stop

22. tight turns
23. forehand pass and receive
24. backhand pass and receive

We will also teach many other aspects of the sport. We will show them and teach them positioning, all the face off dots, all the lines on the ice, about penalties and referee's. Kids will have an absolute blast this upcoming hockey season and the coaching staff looks forward to it.

Thanks Green Team 4
