Game 17 vs Richmond Hill Stars at home 1 Dec 2013
A 3-2 WIN

This is without doubt the toughest, most hard fought, and emotional game our team has played in a season and a half of being together. To say that Richmond Hill came to play would be an understatement. A worthy and talented group they are. A future playoff series with this team would be very challenging and exciting.

There is much more so please read on!

The following are just a few games notes, observations, comments, and accolades:

- Firstly, props to our goaltender for keeping us in the game when our opponent was pressing and all around our  net.
Timely saves and excellent rebound control were crucial to this win.  Awesome work Kienen!

- Props to our defensemen, Ryan, Caleb, Nathan, and Trent, (Daniel was out sick but would have been leading the charge if he could have played) for clearing out the front of the net and standing up for our goalie when Richmond Hill was going to the net hard and sometimes crashing our netminder.

- Special mention to "Big Mike Denney" for coming back from his wing position and also sticking up for Kienen when he was being poked, prodded, and jabbed.  The defensive corps will allow him to be an honourary D-man for a day!

- Kudos to our forwards, who all performed well and took the play to them just as hard, including some very nice passing plays and some relentless backchecking.  good on you all.

- Our goal scoring and offence was supplied by Kaden (2) and Michael. Assist production was from Matt, Nathan, and Kaden.

- A special mention and props to Kaden for scoring the game winner with 1.4 seconds to go to complete this win.
You couldn't have made the Blaze fans happier when that shot went in!

-Finally to our coaches and trainers for keeping their cool and their wits about them during some tense moments,  penalty troubles, and (sometimes) challenging officiating.

- Special mention to Coach Scott for being so polite to the referees that they actually allowed one of our kids to have his very own bench for a whole 2 minutes!  :)

We are now alone in 2nd place in the standings with an impressive record of 13 wins, 3 losses, one tie!
