The boys from the Blaze have continued their winning ways.....
After heading into Lake Placid coming off their first regular season victory of the year vs the Richmondhill Stars, the Blaze have now won 2 straight regular season games with a 3-1 victory over the Markham Waxers last night in Markham. The boys got behind 1-0 early to the Waxers as Markham came out hard and fast to start the game. However, like the game in Richmondhill, the boys showed their fighting spirit with another come from behind win! Brennan Hedrick who got the go ahead goal with about six minutes to play off a beautiful pass from Riley Arpagaus, then buried the Waxers with an empty netter with seconds left on the clock said "my Mom really didn't want me to come, I wasn't feeling all that great but I said, "Mom, get me the tylenol and let's go win this thing!!". That attitude seemed to carry over to the rest of the team as they grinded out the win. In the post game scrum coach Olly said "this definitely wasn't our best effort but we proved we can win even when we're not at the top of our game." JJ Russell had the first goal of the game off a scramble in front after a shot from the point from Nic Brady. When asked about his silky mitts around the net JJ said "I get my silky mitts from my Mom".
The boys will go for their third straight victory Thursday night in Aurora vs the rival Tigers where they will surely need to bring their best to keep the streak alive.
